A graduate of Ryerson University’s continuing education program in photography, I have in recent years worked extensively in both film and digital media. I have shown and sold my work at numerous solo and group exhibitions in Toronto and throughout central and southern Ontario and have been a frequent participant in the annual CONTACT Toronto Photography Festival. In 2009 I have exhibited at Leonardo Galleries and Neilson Park Creative Centre, both in Toronto, and was awarded 1
st prize in the latter gallery’s “Impact 2009 “ annual juried art show.
Artist Statement:
The exploration of old and sometimes abandoned structures is a predominant theme in my work. Amid the urban and post-modern reside the remnants of the past, often seemingly unremarkable and ignored by those who pass by. They are attended only by nature and the hands of time, pressing them deeper into oblivion. Sometimes, though, nature will illuminate and enliven these places by contrasting its own vitality, freshness and colour, causing one to stop, look, reflect and imagine. My photography also focuses on the landscapes of our natural world where light presents an element of surprise in the creation of the final image.
