ArTo - Toronto's art community collective
Linda Kristin Blix
Energizing colour, vitality of line, a sense of humor and media trickery are elements of art employed by Linda. Her creative studies began at only 15 years of age, when she left her home in Winnipeg to live with relatives in the U.S. in order to attend school offering a superior art program. Linda’s love of printmaking began then, and continued at the University of Manitoba’s School of Fine Art where she was a printmaking and painting major. After many years as a printmaker, Linda’s passion for figure drawing and painting resurfaced and she received advanced standing into the Ontario College of Art and Design, graduating with honours in 1997. Linda's strong conviction that art is essential for a balanced and fulfilling life, and a desire to help encourage others to use their art, has inspired her extensive teaching of adults and children. Linda’s art is driven by the desire to create new ways of using the many techniques in her tool box, in ways unique ways. Printmaking has always excited her as the unexpected and surprising happenings are always welcome! Figure drawing is however, her passion and her 'aerobics for the artist'.
