African-Canadian artist and poet Roxane A. Tracey creates work from her soul with the intention of touching the souls of others. Roxane believes both art and words can reach within to uncover hidden passion, desire, sadness and strength. Through creating Poetic Art, Roxane intends to tap into the senses and stimulate the mind. She has been seriously exploring artistic creation since 1999 and she couldn't imagine life without it. Roxane’s artistic creations are largely inspired by her travels throughout both East and West Africa. She feels that the spirit of the ancestors live within her work and that a fire within moves her to inspire others through her artwork.
